AT to MT 84 into 82 Pedals

I am converting an 82 automatic to an 84 standard.

I just swapped the pedals, and the pedal mounts are not exactly the same. I pulled the long bolts and swapped the pedals to the original mount. I bent the spring clip on the clutch pedal inward a small amount with crescent wrench. This allowed me to bolt the other end of the spring tension rod to the original pedal mount.

This process didnt take long, but it was a pain in the ***.

There's a complete '83 gsl at chesterfield auto parts in Richmond, just so ya know. There's stuff on it I'd like to have but can't justify adding to my clutter. If you want anything lemme know.

I'll take the pedals, the metal piece for the hydraulic hose at the firewall, the plate in the floor where the shifter goes and some decent boots with that plate. Let me know I'll pay you to get them. I need them pretty quick if you can. mikep28@insightbb.com or PM is fine. Can pay pal. No problem.

Did a 82 auto to 79 pedals, 85 trans on my sons car last year.

It's an easy swap really. If you have any questions. Fire away.

Just as an update. The brackets from 82 to 84 are different.

What I had to do was pull the long bolt that secures the pedals to the mount, and mount the 84 pedals onto the 82 bracket.

The only modification necessary, was bending the clutch damper bolt hole on the mount so it would bolt on.

Everything else was no problem.

I am looking forward to finishing the swap.
