mounting flywheel to counterweight

I have searched, and read the haynes manual, maybe a little too much, so the gf says, as it sits on the coffee table at this minute.lol But when bolting th flywheel to the counterweight, is there a particular orientation? The manual mentions lining some marks on the flexplate and counterweight up, but knowing that is for AT, is this the case for MT or just anywhere? Racing Beat Alum. lightweight, I believe. 225mm if it matters. Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
Travis Nelson

Unless you have gotten it balanced, it should not matter how you mount it.

just throwing something out there, but wouldn't it go opposite of the front counterweight? Hmm, glad this came up before i stuck mine on..

P.s. If anyone needs a 83-85 12a rear counterweight, i got one, 50 shipped priority mail.

Inspect those bolts for stretch marks and use lock-tite.

difference in counterweights?

Thanks, just got a new hardware kit from Mazdatrix. As far as lining up with the front, they are keyed IIRC, so they can only go on one way. I got one from a 12a auto, is there any difference in years or does it matter? Mine is an 83. Thanks

Yes there is a difference in years. 83-85 had lighter rotors, therefore had a lighter counterweight.
