more updates on the bootleg 7...

well, i went to Trussville mazda today and picked up my coolant level sensor, and its gasket, and also an oil filter.

What kind of oil do you guys use? i bought some Casteroil GTX 5W30 at walmart, anything i should use that WONT kill my engine soon but WILL make it run better? (that rules out redline synthetics ) anyway...

what i did today:
1. removed catylatic converter again to drop the exhaust..noticed the exhaust was WELDED in one spot where it used to be bolted in, so i gotta find an exhaust setup at the junk yard to do until i can afford a new system...
2. removed exhaust heat shield that keeps tranny away from exhaust... k well that was fun..in the sarcastic kind of way.
3. looked at the carb funny and thought to myself "i love fuel injection"
4. took the shifter out of my transmission, got scared and put it back in..theirs just something about looking DOWN into my shifter casing that bothers me.ill remove it again before i drop the tranny down..
oh yeah, i got some new tools today, alot of metric sockets, and some open end wrenches...got the tranny almost all the way off, im now in the process of taking the starter off before i remove the mounts and the last few bolts... took the drive shaft out too, its laying up under the car right now..
i didnt follow the haynes manual for its removal, i misread and did the remove step before the mark position step.... *shrug* guess ill have fun figuring out which way is right eh? anyone ever done it without marking? easy/hard?
5. taking the starter off, one of the wires on it is cut.. looks like a ground ... puzzling... :| ill try to splice it back into living before i put everything back...

anyway, any comments / help is appreciated.. ill keep you guys posted

----- anyway.. today...
i went outside and picked up my soaking wet driveshaft out from under my car where it had been laying, and the end that plugs into the transmission had rusty water on it..i freaked out and cleaned it off and brought the drivetrain in and put it on the front porch..lol
anyway.. maybe someone will reply now :P
