My turbo swap was moving along nicely the engine and tranny are mounted in the car and the shifter lines up perfect. Thanks go to setzep for his help with moding the shift linkage. I didnt get it "perfect" but it works fine.

Heres the fuel cell, this thing was a pain. I had to have my friend to tighten the fitting. My arm is to big to reach through the filler neck.

But its done and in the car. I still need to fine tune its angle and hook up the fuel filler and pump.

Lets see more pic's of how you did this fuel cell. Did you have to modify the cell in order to work? Looks like you had to add those barb fittings on the side?

the whole and the alluminum peice in the middle of the cell is the original filler and vent fitting. They wouls hit the spare.

the large fittings in the sides are the filler and the filler vent using PVC. On the corner is the vent fitting. going to the evap canister. There all sealed with Permatex #2 hard setting sealant.

That's a big *** intercooler! The one on my dad's Saab 9000 isn't but about half the size... At least what I can see of it.

I checked the pvc.
I the that big black fitting in a little dish of gasoline for 4 days and nothing.

yes its a 16gal, i figured with the bigger engine and turbo i would want a little extra weight at the rear and some extra gas.

yeh, its a big intercooler. i wanted to be really reliable so ive been going extra big on everything,
i just ordered a 2row 22x19 chevy style aluminum radiator from summit. It should fit perfectly in front of the intercooler.

Heres the turbo, Hot side is a 1.15 p trim wheel with a divided housing. cool side is .60 ar but its a pretty small.
Im going to ad a 60-1 compressor wheel before i put it in the car.

i didnt have to cut anything in the car. I just modded the tank.

I decided to go with a fuel cell because I thought it would give the best performace for the car.

The cell is foamed and sumped. so it works well for draga and road racing. Im more into road racing and I figured this would work the best.

Plus it looks badass on the street with a cell and nice aluminum fitting at the back.

Is this the radiator that you got? http://store.summitracing.com/partde...art=HRE%2D342B

I too have a 16 gallon fuel cell from summit. It's got the GM sender and is filled with safety foam. I've modified the sender to work with my stock guage.

How'd you modifiy the sender to work with the stock gauge? The stock gauge is a constant voltage bi-metalic strip type, whereas the GM sender is for a air coil. Just curious..... I plan on using a ford 70-10 ohm and modifying the stock gauge.

Perhaps I'm missing something here, but doesn't that defeat the purpose of the intercooler? Please explain to me why the rad goes in front of the intercooler. You get your hot air into the front of teh intercooler, effectively raising the intake air temp.

uhh, finally got that picture to load (forums been grumpy), there is the fuel cell mount in the back. I like how it looks.

The radiator will be behind the intercooler. I am using all autometer guages so thats not a problem.

I didn't mod the guage. I modde the sender. I measured the ohm from the stock sender at full and empty and realised how close the GM sender was. Onluy difference was a couple ohms and it read backwards.

I cut one of the wire traces on the circuit board of the sender and bypassed it. I went directly from the topmost resistor to one of the posts. It runs backwards and matches the ohm requirements of the guage. Now all it needs is a 2.5ohm resistor and it should be perfect. Otherwise I may just leave it because it's really close. The 2.5 ohm resistor could be added inline so it's really easy to add one at a later date.

Remember, this is on a stock GLC guage. RX-7s shared parts bins so there's a chance your guage is the same. I'll have guage specs in a while.

82sreetracer, that cell looks good. Mine looks similar. What did you have to do to get the mounting straps to work upside down like that? I had to heat and rebend mine because the bottom of my cell is wider than the top.

I didnt have a problem like that at all, my cell is rectangular.

your cell must be tricotangular or something...

AGAIN, for the third time. I AM ISTALLING AUTOMETER GUAGES IN PLACE OF ALL THE STOCK GUAGES.

OKAY!!!
