Question More Driveshaft Vibrations

I have reviewed the many previously listed posts on drive shaft vibrations and am trying to correct the problem I am having on my '82 RX7. I had to replace the u-joint and have had the drive shaft balanced and then rechecked but still have some vibrations. Two possible areas that I have not been seen discussed.
1. The Haynes manual says that if you install a new drive shaft and still have vibrations to install "weight, 0.12 to 0.20 oz., purchased from your dealer" on the rear flange. I can see that this might help since the last time I had the drive shaft OFF and put back on, possible not as it was before, that the vibration pattern is different. Which brings up the question, if you need to put on these weights, how? Trial and error?, to ellimanate the vibrations? Comments please!
2. When talking to MAZDATRIX ( I was about to order a new driveshaft) the lady said that the vibration may be caused by a "bushing" that is in the rear of the transmission. Looking at the parts blow-up of the transmission, I can see the part she is talking about BUT, has anyone else run across this problem? If it is the bushing, do you have to pull the transmission to replace it? Comments please.
I have not had time to try the "weights addition" to see if that will help but have a feeling that a different drive shaft in on the horizon.
Thanks for any comments, suggestion or help.

This is just a friendly reminder that on the transmission
tail shaft,the drive shaft,and the rearend flange,Those
two places is where ( I ) used spray paint to 'mark' the
positions. some may scribe marks there. a small effort
to do.to save a major headache later. sorry no info on wieghts or seals

Well, Buckaroo....

Not totally informed about '82 Sevens, but I tried everything on both my '85's and all to no avail. My advice, bite the bullet and order a driveshaft from Mazdatrix. I ended up blowing close to $500 on machine shops, balancing, etc., and still had vibrations.
With Mazdatrix shafts cars run fine....

This may sound odd, but check the air in your tires. I had a vibration in my car above 60 when I had just put my driveshaft in, and then I checked the air in my tires. All of them were somewhere between 5-10 LBS low (I know, poor maintance ), after I fixed that, it feels like a whole new car.

Besides your tires, (as previously posted by RMD)

Check the transmission mount. They can fail without you being able to tell visually. Usually you have to remove it off the car to see that the rubber bushing has disconnected itself from the metal mount.

On my old 81, that was it.
