Put tape over them and color it with permanant marker I really don't know how to fill it in, maybe use bondo, sand it nice and smooth, then paint? I like how that line looks on the car, so I've never thought of what the best way to fill it in would be.

well a good i repeat GOOD shop would strip the paint and fill in the area with LEAD. then repaint it... i got a quote on filling in the side marker lights(2 yellow and 2 red)...just a simple install of a backing plate and then putting lead in the holes. 2800.00$ and that was just putting primer back on the filled in spots. OUCH i dont really need the lights removed that bad.
Bondo always shrinks...so it will continue to crack. your best bet is fill it in with a filberglass resin. as its not a plastic(like bondo).

when i did mine, i just filled them up with a fiberglass enforced body filler and kept doing layers of it to build it up
(never use too much at once, the heat it produces when hardning can warp the metal)
then i used normal body filler to finish it off and get it all smooth

on the doors, because the filler we be under more stress from the slamming door i screwed a metal rod into the grove so that the body filler would have something stronger to stick too..

and plus now the door skin is screwed tight to the side intrusion bar and it rattled alot less..

as results go:
when i started it i had NO knowlage of using body filler. so basicly it was learning process. im happy with the result. it isnt the best finish but what can u ask for when u do it in ur back yard?
