mk2 supra rims on first gen?

does anybody here have mk2 supra rims on their GSL-SE? does anybody know if they are a perfect and will rub or not? will i have to do anything like fender rolling to make these rims work? Pics appreciated.

There is a youtube video of a black first gen with these rims but i don't know who the person is..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzUtxz6fvlI

If Im not mistaken, they are only 14x7 or no more than 8, backspace wise, about 4.5

you should be fine with 14x8 with 4.5 backspace. it should be flush with the fender or slightly outside. be sure to roll the lip above the tire (I grind them not roll)

By the way, I think those only fit the GSL-SE bolt pattern.

that was my old car. It will only fit a GSL-SE pattern. and they hang out pretty wide. Don't know if they would fit with a smaller tire. I put my race rubbers on them only, they were about the size of a 245 front and back. I still have them as well if anyone is looking.

I think the tires would more than like fit but not sure because the offset. My race tires did rub under hard turns.

and i'm assuming you have most of the typical suspension upgrades? (tokico illuminas set on stiff, aftermarket lowering springs and what not)

were your celica wheels strictly for race purposes? did you ever have em on as "daily driver" wheels?

Do you think those wheels can be daily driven if needed? Or is there just too much rub and complication for daily driving?

is rolling the fenders the only thing i have to do to get ZERO-rub with these 14x8 rims?
reason being is i just picked up a set of these babies...excited to try em on but i wanna make sure i can pull these off with absolutely zero rub first. i should be able to pull these off just fine with tokico illuminas and respeed coilovers right?? thanks a lot for the help everybody!

I wish those would fit on my 1st gen :[

I've been in the market for wider rims and i like those, but I dont want to have to swap everything over to SE parts.....Any cheap decent looking rims i can swap to?

I had P-Type Supra rims on mine with a 225-60-14. They are 14x8. Anyways, they were ok w/o flares. If you are not stock height and want to run a higher profile tire, they will rub on the sidewall. Keep the profile low and you will be ok. I do not have any photos but I did run them for quite some time. Fender rolling is a good idea in either case.

You can get "Baby Supra's" which are 13x7 and L-Type rims which are 14x7.

I have 9 of the pictured "P-Type" 14x8 rims available if anyone so chooses. I will almost give them away to those who want to inquire. One is basically new.

Edit:

I looked at the link that TSI posted and mine didn't stick out like that. Odd. they were flush with the fender lip.

One thing you need to know in running these is that you MUST use the toyota lug nuts that come with these wheels. They are shank lug nuts and center the wheel on the hole. the usual standard 40-60deg taper will not work.

Those wheels are NOT 14X8. People just see the 8 stamped on them and assume they are 14X8. The 8 is the offset. meaning +8. They are 14X7.

nofords- if your rims where flush then you probably had the mk2 ltype rims or celica gt rims. the p-type rims are infact wider. i have a mk2 supra and would kinda like to know what rim options i have because its the same as yalls gsl-se pattern.
