MK1 short shifter noise

I just installed an MK1 short shifter. It shifts pretty smooth but I hear a slight rattle, especially when I wind it up.

When I apply slight pressure upwards, the rattle is gone. Does it sound like I might need a spacer or two to raise the shifter up just a hair?

Pretty common issue with all short shifters.
Since they are machined from a solid piece of steel, they tend to rattle. The stockers have rubber isolators to quell the noise.I was able to eliminate most of the noise by draining all the oil in the selector box and filling it with heavy,Ultra Red EP grease.
