I need to find out if these glass packs are stuffed with stainless cause if they are i am gonna take this sucker to a shop soon and have it completely redone. The exhaust system is nice and worth what i paid but in Wisconsin this thing would be toat in 2 years. Gotta get it replicated

That made my day. Thanks for posting a video. It does sound really good.

From your description of the cat it sounds like it was not gutted. Since you can still see through it, the catalyst is still intact and not clogged. Not sure how long it will last.

I'm glad you were able to find some 3 hole gaskets. I bet a coat of high temp paint will keep the system from rusting up in salt country. Or at least preserve it for a few years.

Yeah I made a heat shield out of laminated stainless steel sheet from Boeing Surplus. The lamination keeps it stiff while being thin and the SS transfers less heat than aluminum might. It also doesn't ring like my friend's homemade Camden heat shield does as it is a 1/16" plate is SS and sounds interesting at certain RPMs.

Just use fibreglass heatwrap. I've got some on my RB header and it hasn't burned through and I can touch it when the engine is hot. The Mindtrain sounds nice though. Good find.

Firebird you're such a newb lately. It's common knowlege that the mindtrain exhaust made more horsepower then the RB exhaust. when they were in business they had dyno sheets right on their webpage. get over yourself. the header is closer to equal length and it has an actual collector. neither of the RB systems has a decent collector...

Speaking of which I made a heat exchanger delete pipe for the Cosmo today and gave it a good coat of high temp paint. It should stay nice looking for years.

I used heatwrap on my header as well. Previous to the heatwrap I found a small insulated teflon cookie sheet (in the kitchen) which I had modified and it worked well. Sadly I had to run out and buy a new one when my wife was looking for it after mixing ups some cookie batter though....

I'm not saying it's not a great system but you are STILL throwing **** out of your *** with no proof. If there were dyno sheets them post them up. If you have no proof than stop posting misinformation, because that's all it is without some evidence otherwise. I'm not saying RB is the best system on the planet but they've been in the game longer than anybody.

Sorry for not noticing the video I must have completely missed it!! It does sound good. I'm kinda kicking myself in the *** for not getting the one I saw on eBay a little while ago

your doing the same thing, saying that RB is better, if you dont have dyno sheets to prove it, then RB isnt any better. however this is a stupid debate to begin with because the net powere difference would only be like 5hp max, maybe more noticeable with supercharger, but even the SJD header only edged out the rb by a few... its a pissing contest and its stupid....

but the mindtrain sounds better, and isnt loud. so there!

Usually in the rotary world, quiet means less power. You'll never hear a quiet pport or bridgeport engine and if you do it ain't making any power. Sounds good though for a nice street car, Congrats.

hey Ben, don't have speakers on this computer. I'll check it out when I get home. I can tell you that my RB system vibrates my pant legs when i'm next to it and also burns my eyes to stand behind it. Still messing around with the carb to get it into lower rpms...

Good find though

Sounds a little edgier than the RB systems. I like it.
