Mikuni phh 44 issues / questions

Hi:
I'm running what is most likely a 13b from a gsl or gsl-se with a mikuni carb. I purchased the car in that configuration and when we pulled the carb apart to clean and inspect it seems that it's running jetting for a 12A. The car is running lean and is having some issue on start up. I have no idea if it has been ported at all and it is running the stock OMP. If anyone has had luck running mikuni PHH44 on a 13b, I would be stoked to get some tips and info.

This is the second Mikuni carb thread I've seen recently, which is interesting because those aren't super common carbs.

Here's the other thread, not sure how much it helps but it does link to another thread on running and I listed a source I found for jets:

Hopefully a search for threads with "Mikuni" gives you some useful results. It should have a pretty good signal-to-noise ratio compared to some other searches since the carbs aren't super common.

Cheers,

Jon

The 12a jetting in the phh44 will work just fine on a 13b. I had one on a street port 4port 13b and that little carb was more than enough carb to keep up. Get a Carter p4070 and a good low pressure regulator. I ran fuel pressure at 2 or 2.5 psi. I played around with the jetting for awhile. But always went back to the stock 12a jets. That's what it ran best on. Pulled hard all the way to 8k rpm. Wish I didn't sell it after going EFI.

Hey, cheers. I have no idea what fuel pump I'm using as I bought the car as is. I am running my regulator at 4psi, or that's what it is set to. I will be cleaning and installing new gaskets in the spring so maybe that will help? I also haven't done a comp test yet. But like I was saying it's just running a bit lean.
