Miata Rear End

I've been through the FAQ section and search, and cannot find this answer. I have an '85 base model. Will the Miata rear be a direct swap and fit my axles and drive shaft bolt pattern ?(same size & splines) I know that the '84-85 axles are larger than pre-84. What year Miata LSD rear end is best?

There is some good info and Links if you Search, You just have to Seach real hard. Look for Pig, Diff and some other names.

I seam to remember it was 94+ and 99+ with the 99+ needing to be the 6 speed car.

Diff goes into the 84 or 85 rear, you lose some Axle engagement with the Diff, but mosler will make you new alxes that correct this, If you want.
