I was wandering if the oil pressure gauge told you if the metering pump is working.

 

I don't think so, the Oil metering pump is supposed to pump something like 0.7ml of oil into the carb (at the base) evey min.

The best way to check to see if it is in fact working is to disconect the lines and put them into a container and run the engine for a few mins... Measure the amount of oil, then note the time the engine was running and figure out how much it is putting out per min.
