What is a metering pump?

the oil metering pump? it's purpose is to supply a lil' bit o' oil to the combustion chamber. the pump is on the lower right hand side of the engine and has 2 little brittle clear tubes that come up and attach to the carb.

It controls the ammount of oil that is pumped into the carb so that your apex seals dont go dry.
