Mazspeed (now with 100% less flame)

Please do me a favor folks, and don't use this thread to flame anyone, okay?

I'm working with Mike and the current host to get service restored since it was paid for. As soon as things are up, I'll be posting in this thread.

Once again, for the love of all that is holy, please keep this thread from degenerating like the last one. Robert, I'm sorry to have to ask since you hooked me up with a great running engine, but please, to keep the flames from being fanned, don't post in this thread, please.

Thanks.

I'm actively freelancing, and had done pretty well until this past month. Have had 3 proposals out there for a while and no responses. So, if you know anyone needing graphic/web design, I'm available

sorry to see the other thread go that way... Just anxious to see the site back up. No pressure on you though.

As mentioned in the other thread, the only thing keeping the site offline is the current host's apparent lack of attention to a paying client.

Steps will be taken as soon as it's back up, to get it to a more professional environment from someone with a vested interest (read also - another mazspeed member who is ready to roll as soon as I get in touch with him).

It's not that I haven't had interviews, it's that they are all crappy offers.

It's not that I haven't looked for temp/contract work on craigslist, it's that they don't want to pay for someone of my experience level

Got access to the database and have started coordinating with the new host. I have to run out for a few hours but hope to have news soon.

Cheers.

It is a great site. Thanks a bunch for getting it back up. It is the ONLY place that I could find that had some baseline jetting for the Weber carb.

Every nube should be required to read the articles.

The name servers are updated, and will slowly propogate.

The site itself will be transferred soon, and should start to resolve in a few hours depending on your ISP and their caching policies.

The forum isn't set up yet but it's on the to do list.

I'm able to resolve the domain as of 2 minutes ago - the content is being uploaded, so ignore the placeholder.

Additionally, the mazspeed member doing the hosting is fairly busy and may not get around to having the server ready for the forum. However, the forum will be live before too long. All content should be ready to roll (except for the forum) by this afternoon/evening.

Cheers,

All content is up. The forum is just waiting on a database import.

It will be done either later tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks for your patience everyone - may this be the last time it gets tried

I have some familial obligations this weekend, but Kamal says he should be able to fix the db problems resulting in a fully functioning Mazspeed site this weekend.

Mad props to Kamal.

The future is going to be good. Redesign, better integration with the forum/site, easier tools to permit article writing/posting/publishing, and lots of goodies to show the rotary pride.

Of course, I need to get some income first, but one step at a time, no?

Cheers all. Catch you on the "little" board soon.

Pratch,
any news? The site is still not up. Just wondering if you have an update.
Thanks

If you can't get the main site itself right now, it means your ISP caches DNS entries for a fairly long period of time.

Absolute worst-case in those instances is over 6 weeks (or a call to your ISP asking nicely).

http://www.mazspeed.com

If that resolves, then you're okay. The forum itself is still undergoing database changes - something I can't easily assist on.

I'll post once I know that the forum is up and happy.

I can get to the home page. but not to the actual forum. Is that what you mean, or should I contact my ISP?
Thanks,
dave

Kamal said he might be busy but would try to get the forum going. No issue with your ISP so long as you can see the site

I lack the access to the db to attempt to get the forum going on my own. At least we know that it won't be long now, and that mazspeed won't be going away.
