MA Master / Slave or Clutch

I've just replaced the master cylinder and the petal still goes to the floor, can barely get it in gear. It's got to be the slave then right? If the clutch was going it would be slipping, not engaging 1" off the floor right?

1st post Thanks

The brakes and clutch are 2 seperate hydraulic systems (correct me if wrong).

Your slave went bad. Replace and bleed. If you replaced the clutch master. you have to replace the slave, and generally if you replace the slave you wouldn't need to replace the master, depending on how old it is.

Also, check your fluid levels.

I "primed" the new master and did bleed the slave, pumped until the clean fluid came through. I'll try a slave. As far as I know both came with the car (130K).

That's all you have to do is pull the dust boot off the back of the slave and see if their is fluid there. If their is then the slave is bad.
