Map light intermittently works

Well, my map light has worked on occasion, and within the past few months, not at
all .

So I am going to be pulling it off and cleaning it up, inside and out. Hopefully this will
help with the map light function. I know I am getting power to it, I just think the
switch/contact is worn or dirty.

If anyone else has this problem I could snap some pictures and document if it
works.

You won't need pics, it's a simple set up. Sounds like one of the wires have broken or a solder joint failed.

Got to taking it apart today. On the map rocker ther is some felt on it (I think it is
felt), which was super old and pretty much crumbly. That was making my rocker
hang too far low to where it couldn't ground itself. Put some new felt strip in it and
works great
