major safty concern
hey guys its me again have not posted in a while and ill watch the spelling this time. So i have a major i think safety issue. if you have been following my very slow rebuild of my 85 gsl se then u would know that i had my frame fixed the rear inners replaced and the rear upper suspension welded back in. So now i have what i think i s a BAD problem. on the passenger side in the engine bay there is a what i think is a steering mount on the shock tower(in the front of the car). My frame welder doesn't know what it is so he wont touch it and he is the one doing my safety. Basically i am asking what it does and how easy will it be to fix it (its rusting out) I think its double layer thick metal and to me it seems that the first layer is just rusted away form the second. HOWEVER. i don't know anything about it! just how hard is it going to be to cut out and weld, hopefully without pulling the motor
. Or with if i have 2
.
.
If its what I think you are talking about it is your pittman arm or idler arm I forget witch one is on that side. It sits slightly behide the tower if I can remember. I just brokedown my 84 SE I know they are the same cause I also have an 85 SE, if it bolts in its one or the other, I don't know if your talking about something that is welded in your car but as far as I can remember nothing is welded around there I could be wrong.
