Ludicrous deal - probly get flamed

Ok, check this out, I have my 85 GS that runs very well. As some of you may know, I have planned on putting in a v8 ever since I got the car.

Now I know that a lot of purists would hate for this larcenous act, but this is what I propose. Somewhere out there is some FB owner who has a nice car with a blown up engine. Since I am a working family man(read: no denaro) and if said FB owner was willing to buy me a complete kit from Granniesspeedshop, I would trade strait up my 12A and 5spd tranny. Of course they would be able to see the motor run and how it drives.
A couple of things to note: THe engine idles high- about 1200 rpm, smooth but high. I beleive also that the carb to manifold gasket leaks, because it screeches at very high rpm, under heavy accerleration.
Also, it has a header. Don't know what kind, it was on there when I got it.

My car cruises very smoothly at 80-100 mph, does not overheat or smoke. I drive it every day.

This thread is mostly to anyone in the North Florida, South Georgia area, because I'm sure anyone further away than that can probly find a better deal closer to where they live. Also, it is easier to see and hear the car run and drive for someone closer to this area.

Note, I am not getting rid of the car, just the engine and tranny and driveshaft.

Also, I am posting this in the SE Region pages as well as the First Gen pages.

Thanks. BTW, you can't flame me for trying to restore someone elses 7 to its "proper" rotary condition.

Later,
Bill

Yeah, which kit are you talking about? The basic starts at $285 and gets as high as $1600 for the deluxe..
For a basic kit around $300, that doesn't sound like a bad deal..
How many miles on your 12a? Too bad you live in Florida..
