LSD acting like alot like open differental
I've got a video of my car doing donuts... when it was practically bone stock except for rims and the bumper, but anyway, until then both wheels used to spin, now only one, what's up with this? i put a post about it a while back, not now i have a video to show only the driver's side wheel will spin... but sometimes only the passenger side. http://www.geocities.com/hybridsms/doh1.avi
if you look on the rear quarter panel you can see where i wrecked it... ******* ice

sounds like you are either low on fluid in your rear end or your rear diff is bad. check it, maybe try replacing it with some redline, if that doesn't help then you might need a rebuild or a new one.

i use redline heavy shockproof gear oil in the diff all the time. great stuff.
the diff clutches might be worn out. to check it:
1. jack up one side of the car. the other side of the car must be on the ground. the rear tire of that side must be firmly on the ground
2. take trans out of gear and take off parking brake.
3. put your torque wrench on the rear wheel that 's in the air. the wheel should spin at 90 ft lbs of torque when the LSD is brand new. if it spins below 90 ft lbs it needs rebuilding.
mine only had 30 ft lbs of clamping force! original 81 LSD.

test to see if the LSD discs are bad....
jack the car up on one side so one rear tire is off the ground and the other closest to you is off the ground. put it in gear and put a torque wrench on one of the lug nuts on the side off the ground. the lower the torque before the wheel breaks loose, the worse shape the plates are in. i know the racecar's broke loose lower than the torque wrench could go, it was that bad.

Ok, whats the trick to seeing that video. I downloaded it, and it apparently saved. Winamp opened, and began to play, but in 1/2 a second, it just said STOPPED. I tried to open it in AOL Media Player, and it said that file type is not supported. What gives?
