Easy one guys..poss an FAQ, so sorry..

What's the easy check for an LSD?..is it in the VIN?..or a tag on the diff?....or jacking it up and spinning the wheels?

Or....???

dump the clutch and do a nice burn out

2 even tracks= LSD

1 track= Peg leg

 

The quick and fairly certain first check is the brakes. Disc=LSD most of the time, drums=no LSD the VAST majority of the time. From there, the jack method works well. The only time that a disc brake car wouldn't have a LSD is if it were swapped for an open diff and vise-versa for the drums.

 

I just added a couple of LSD threads to the FAQ. Hopefully this'll help in the future.

GSL and SE had LSD- GS doesnt, as far as I Know
