lowering spring question, need help

okay guys, here's the deal. i recently installed some spec7 springs on my car... boy does she feel like a beauty now... but here's the problem, the spring heigth is shorter than the travel of the struts, so everytime i put my car up on jacks, the springs are free to move around, and in the back, probably pop out if i'm not careful. now i wouldn't think this as such a big deal, until i start getting a little crazy and get my car up in the air, allowing the springs to slap aorund on the holders. that'll stop my fun real quick. any ideas on how to fix that? how do you racers prevent this problem?

I used heavy duty black plastic ty-wraps, you know nylon ties at the bottom of the springs. 2 on each one should hold the bottom in place to the lower perch.

Does that have anything to do with cutting the bumpstops?
