Low Idle Speed?
I just bought a 1982 rx7 about a week and a half ago. The guy i bought it from was nice enough to give me a shop manual with it. As i was browsing through that i found that the idle speed should be 750 rpms, while mine is at about 650 rpms. Its not a rough idle or anything, but every 5-7 seconds i get a small "pop". The car hasn't been tuned (or driven very much) in the past 2 years or so. Should i use some gumout on the carb, and have the idle adjusted? When i hold the choke to put the engine at 750 the pop seems to go away. Any help would be appreciated. BTW rx7's rock!

I am thinking just drive it around before adjusting to make sure it doesnt just need to clean itself out a little bit. Also, give it a good warmup and then drive it slightly hard. Dont beat the crap out of it. Just take it kinda high in the rpms (6ish) and shift easy. Repeat. Get her up to 60-65 and keep it in 4th for about half a mile. Then see how she idles.
