Loose wires

Found these inside my dash, any idea what they go to?

They seem to go up and towards the steering column but I lose track of them out side of the dash.

Haha those are for the stock speakers, I have them too. They go to the amps in the rear storage bins. There should be white and black wires under your center console, right behind the shifter area. They are unnecessary since you probably had an aftermarket system in your car already installed. May I ask why you asked, are you installing an aftermarket system??

Actually I had the stock system when the car came to me and went aftermarket from there. Weird. I actually just ripped the Pioneer unit I put in at that time and went with a snap in tablet idea that I pulled off the 3rd gen forum, re ran all the speaker wire then. As for why I asked, sheer curiosity sir, the best reason.

Can you link to the snap-in tablet thread you mention?

Thanks!

Looks pretty cool, I like the idea! I just got a Kenwood single din because it matches my FB better I believe. But in an FD and some tricked out FBs I'm sure this would be sweet! Good luck with the build and make sure to post pics

Honestly, done right it would look great. I like the way it looks in mine alot especially when the screen cuts off during night driving and its just a black dash. Plus the idea that I can take my gps faceplate with me and still do other things with it. I was between paying 600 for either a kenwood or pioneer 2din and went with a $250 acer tablet. I do wish I knew how to do custom fibreglass work to make a proper housing for it instead of cutting up my good dash piece, but I'll get around to that soon enough and probably get them to fab up a replacement for my shifter surround so i can get the boot tabs back lol.
