Looking at an 84 with 13b
Hi, I'm new here, but have been a fan of RX-7's for quite a while. Anyway, I am looking at buying a 1984 (Not GSL-SE) with a fresh 13b, tranny, drive line, light weight fly wheel, street p&p, headers, intake, oil cooler upgrade, upgraded fuel pump, and fuel regulator. Now, I realize that it's a nice list to have done already before I start, but I was curious what you guys thought the potential for this setup is. Currently I have my 1993 MR2 doing dual duty as my daily driver and autocross car, but I think this RX-7 could take over for autocross as well as my 1/4 car. What do you guys think? Would it be a good project to take on?

Sounds promising.
An N/A 13B will give the light 1st gen chassis a little more tractable power and midrange torque than the 12A,but without being a monster handfull...........perfect for autocross.
As long as you dont have to smog it,and the previous owner or person who did the mods did them right.....sounds like a fun toy.

What model is it (gs, gsl). Does it have rear disc and sunroof? Just curious. If it is a GS with no sunroof it will be light and soldi, and if it does not have limited slip with rear disc it will not have the snap oversteer characteristics of the gsl se which is nice for autocross.
