Talking IT LIVES (i mean it runs for a time)

Hi every one i am so HAPPY I put on my bran new starter today pain in the but. So I tryed to turn it over to see if i got every hooked up right. So my dad put some gas down the carb and you know what it started right up after 5 cranks. But it stops runing after 30 sec of running. I think its the jets are cloged and maybe thats why it dies after. Because there is no gas going in the carb. we used carb cleaner and it started up then ran for 30 secs then died. But so we done this about 10 or 13 times started up every time when puting gas down the carb and some carb cleaner intill we ran out of gas and carb cleaner. the car made alot of smoke and got a back fire under the car (i think a gasket is gone in the ex) and got a 1 or 2 foot flame.

Damien

PS: sounds good with no muffler on

checked your fuel filters? try a volume test for the pump
or try a rebuild on the carb

it pumps fuel because you can see bubbleing and you can tell its going in the carb.
