Little Carb Help- Just to start it up

Unlike everything that I have since read, when I rebuilt the carb I didn't make note of the positions of the mixture or throttle adjust screws.

Just to get me in the ballpark- anyone have any suggestions as to where to put them?

Its stripped if it makes any difference.

I usually hold the throttle open by hand until it warms up, then slowly close it and if it wants to die, turn the fuel screw one way and see if that improves, if not turn it the other way, all the time opening the throttle up before it dies and then slowly closing it to test your new fuel screw position.

BTW you should turn the air screw out about mid-way before this, the idle speed won't be correct but you can re-adjust once its running smooth. And if you need to set the throttle stop screw (not sure if you meant this one) just give it about one turn once the screw connects with the tab on the throttle shaft, and if this doesn't give you the right idle range re-adjust it after you have a smooth idle.
