Unhappy Little bit o' help please!

Ok, basicly i bought a 83 fb gls bout 3 days ago. i got it for 450 but it needed some work, the paint was crap, interior was HORRIBLE and plus it didnt run. It has been parked for more than 6 years and the guy said that all in needed was a battery. i cleaned it out and spent about a day cleaning it up...after i washed and waxed it, it looks amazing . It is a nice color of red but here is the problem i spent all of today working on it i bought a battery and i got it to run...for about 20 seconds and the only reason it was running was cause the starting fluid. i had put fresh gas in it to dilute the old crap but it is just not its just not getting any gas into the engine. tommorow im gonna check the small stuff like fuel filter and fuel line, but i need to know where it exactly is. any help would be much apreciated and if ne one has ne ideas those would also help

Thank You,
T.J.

The fuel filter is located under the driver's rear wheel side.
Check your fuses, too. More than likely this is a carburetor issue. 6 years is a long time to sit idle.

Welcome to the forum. www.iluvmyrx7.com has manuals to guide you. I agree, you probably have gummed up gas in the system and should tackle that first.

My advice is that you do a full tune up. I mean the works. You should also check for vacuum problems.

Ok i have an update, after getting a new filter and instaling it kinda ran but when i left the key on i heard what i think is the fuel pump trying to get gas, and when i put my finger over the hose that come out the out end of the filter it stops. but there wasn't any gas comming out of the hoses so im guessing theres a blockage it the tank somewhere? but there was fuel in the filter, so i dont know ne one have ideas?
