Lights On Chime

If I leave my lights on I can hear a click- click-click from under the dash. It used to be a chime. Can anyone tell me where the little "chime maker" is located and what it looks like? Apparently, it has gone bad.

It should be in the CPU,which is a multi-function electronic box under the dash.
The CPU has the flasher units, chimes, various relays and it controls the lights/buzzers for some idiot lights.
Its rare to have one that still works 100%,they are pretty scetchy, especially in the 2nd gens.Mazda had some serious cold solder issues in the 80's,there are people that make a living by rebuilding these little quasi-computer nightmares of the 80's.

You could try grabbing one from a wrecking yard, but its a toss-up that the one you get will be any better. My chimes have never, ever worked and Ive had my car for 12 years.

The white '83 makes a single, semi-muted chime when you turn the light switch. It's kinda funny.
