lights for the air buttons -84 GSL
Does anybody know if/how you can replace those lights? The damn light burned out on my vent button, and since im replacing the whole ashtray/rim thing with a new one (Best Buy broke my old one and paid for it all) i decided it would be an oprotune time to replace the light. My only worry is that they dont make those lights anymore or its too tiny to replace. Anybody know how id go about doing this?
They are replaceable, and I was still able to get bulbs (3 years ago)
Its a pain, you need to be able to flip it upside down, there are little round plastic white philps head screws to remove them, they have orange boots over the (white) bulbs to give them that color.
when my alternator decided to go 20+ volts it blew about every bulb in the car, could actualy hear the tailight bulbs explode!

yes you can get them i know if for a fact. What you have to do if remove the shifter cover and boot, remove the two screws at the bottom of that, then take out the ashtray, take the ***** off the fan and temp control, remove the nuts on the shafts of the switches, then i think it should come off with some carefull prying
. the light sockets twist out of the plastic behind where the ***** would go. The bulbs just slide out of the sockets. I believe they are like 4 watts or something...goold luck

PS - at least this was for my 1985 cars...the interior may be different on yours...

Woah, Woah, Woah... I just realized that you said the "vent" button. As in the "vent" button on the panel of switches consisting of "Vent" "Bi-Level" "Defrost" "Heat" etc.? If this is the case, I dont know if those lights are replaceable. Im thinking they may be replaceable, but it may be a challenge. Like removing the entire control mechanisim in there, then taking it apart or something. If there not bulbs, then they will be LED's. In which case if you have some electronics experiance you should be able to go to Radio Shack and get a replacement. Of course, all this is assuming you can even get to it, and then are able to do the work once you get in there. Good luck...

PS - In the previous post, I thought you were referring to the Fan and Temperature control **** lights...

Remove the trim around the radio/HVAC controls/center vents.
Next, remove the two screws.. or is it four... that hold the LOGICON in... The Logicon is the device that has all the HVAC control electronics in it. There will be grey ***** in the top. They remove with a screwdriver.
You can buy lights that have just the bulb and metal leads, attach them to the plastic ***** as the original ones are.
