Lighting problem

Ok, My little idiot light that says STOP LIGHT stays on......All my lights work fine....BUT I have noticed that when I have my foot on the brake all my parking lights are on (ie: front corners) What is causing this?????? I forgot, my instrument panel also lights up when I put my foot on the brake

Bad ground... I'd bet you there's at least an 80% chance it's that...

My '79's front signal lights turned on when I hit the brakes, and backup lights when I signaled, and **** like that... turned out the ground for the rear tail lights in the hatch area was disconnected... re-connected it, and voila, everything worked normal again...

I believe mine was hooked to the lisence plate light bolt('79), so being hooked to the latch would make sense on a later-model car? try it and find out haha...
