Licence plate mounting locations.
Licence plate mounting locations.
Hey guys.
I'm in the process of mounting my licence plate in a different location than stock. Mainly because my bracket has hung its last plate and because i just hate the stock location.
I was just wondering if there is anyone else who has mounted their plate elsewhere?
I'll try to post some pics of my alteration and just a bunch of pics of my car when i get a digi camera.

I'm going to take mine completely off soon though its illegal here but lots of people do it. And its only a fix-it ticket if you get pulled over for it. You could always put it on the passenger side of the dash...

jerm: it depends on the mood of the cop. they can give you either a fix it ticket or a normal one.. plus, i think fix it tickets are kept on record, so you will not get more than one for the same offense
I am pissed too. Cops are dumb. I had my front plate off for 5years before any cop decided to give me any ticket for that reason. Talk about delay in how important that plate is. I wish I lived in FLorida where they don't require bullshit front plates. They know better then to obstruct air flow down there because its so hot!
To not abstruct airflow im mounting mine off to the side, but also on an angle. It looks good!
And besides, its a $110 ticket if you have it off here! That was after driving around for, what, a week?!

I guess then I have %50 of the dream
I'd rather have a plate in front, than have to worry about emissions.
I would hate to get pulled over for no front plate, and then have one of those cops who tacks on a few things.
loud exhaust, tinted windows, the less Reasons I give them to pull me over, the better

, there goes that plan... what if i got a ticket without the plate on and then put the plate on and went to court?
if it is a fix it ticket , then that is what you do.
but if you got a real ticket and tried that, the judge would just laugh you straight out of the court room. being written up for no plate is not usaully something that a cop will make up on the spur of the moment, and the judges know that.. better off trying to keep a good name for yourself , so that you have a better chance when it comes around to argue those speeding tickets

for those of us in cali, it is even worse. they are now setting up cameras at stop lights which take pictures when you do something wrong .. ( i am not sure if they are set up only to take pictures when you run a red light, or if there will also be a radar in there, and take pictures when you are speeding too)
mmmm merkur xr4ti, those are sweet. i was gonna buy one but the guy backed out. oh well
yeah i think at th bottom at an angle off to the side would be best
take pics when youre done

Yeah, my "mare-koor" pretty slick. There's a guy I know and he has one with 300hp and the whole cosworth kit on it. Very nice!!! It sounds real grumpy with the exhaust on it.

Yeah, it's really nice to not have to worry 'bout emissions, and/or front plates
You live in Ontario, don't you? I thought there were no emission laws there
what about front plates????? i thought you didn't need them either???
Oh well....... as long as there are no laws for that here
