Let Mortal Rebuild Begin!
Well I've got my replacement motor. All is ready to go. Now it's a matter of tearing out everything I don't need and putting in the motor.
Here is the engine bay after tearing a lot of things off the motor and out of the bay itself.
In removing the air conditioning I have pulled all of the lines but this one with this censor on it. For some reason I'm afraid it will mess with the ECU?
Some more random photos!
This is what I think of Air Conditioning!
Notice the 12a wiring harness in the box.
AC pressure switch has nothing to do with the ecu, you can remove it
You've got your work cut out prepping and restoring all the little engine parts, have fun. Good time to prep and paint the engine bay too while the engine is out, along with all of those brackets, sensors, relays, metal hoses, radiator shroud, battery tray, etc.
Use a good paint for refurbishing parts, most of the rattle can ones will not hold up, even the Rust-oleum. Head to your autobdy paint supplier and either buy a good primer and topcoat, or a good rattle primer and paint. You can pick up a cheap touch-up gun for 50 bucks from the home centers, WalMart, etc.

Thanks.
Yea, this motor is coming out and quite a bit of it is actually going on the other. I'm removing everything I can from the bay and I'm going to clean it out well. It's still got a pretty good coat of the white. Don't see any damage actually. I'm going to use foamy engine cleaner on a lot of the hardware to get the gunk build up off. Gonna treat the sway bar with engine paint after sanding the rust off.
The motor itself I got 1200 degree celcius ceramic engine paint. On the new motor I'm gonna sand off what I can and give a good coat of the paint after some foamy engine cleaner cleans out the gunk.
So far it's looking a lot cleaner than it did as far as the whole bay and it will be so nice to pretty it up before the new motor goes in.
The motor I have to replace my current one came out of an SE from New York. The body was too rusted out to drive so the previous owner pulled the motor, tranny, and harness. Good thing for me. I pulled the plugs and hand cranked it and heard the 3 wooshes which is a good sign. They were very prevelant and strong sounding. w00t! Only problem is some of the emissions and other bolt on stuff on the motor has some surface rust on it. The thermal reactor is rusty. Mine is in mint shape so that will go on until I can get a header. One month!
