Let me know what you think! (brakes)
i have a 83 gs .. My brakes are making a lot of noise when i brake. My idea was to get Hawk HP+ pads on the front, and put slotted brake rotors on the front, and convert the disc brake rotors in the rear, and put SS brake lines. What do you think ? What would be the best idea, I want a monster braking system.

Hawk HP+ pads are not quiet, and they dust quite a bit.
I have just about the whole brake system that you want to do, minus the slotted rotors, but I have them on order.
The car brakes pretty well, I will let you know exactly in about a month when I have the setup that you are talking about.

Tennis, anyone
If you want monster brakes. find a -SE at your local junkyard and swap out your old brakes and install the -SE brakes. Everything is beefer on the -SE's. They stop so good that one could loose there chewing gum.,,, no **** !

It's gonna take you a small fortune.
The stock brake system isn't bad, especially if you're doing mainly daily/spirited driving.
SS brake lines will give a better feel, Hawk HP+ pads will give more stopping power, but will dust more and make a bit of noise sometimes.
I'd just take a look at your brake system, see what needs replacing/tweaking and go from there. I just replaced the whole system, cost me a little over $1000 Canadian. That includes EVERYTHING, from wheel cylinders, calipers, shoes, pads, rotors, master cyl, metal lines, you name it. Everything except the rear drums and three of the hard metal lines. I even did the brake hoses and used DOT4 brake fluid.
Slotted or cross drilled rotors cost a fortune and unless you're going to be doing some heavy, HEAVY breaking very often, you don't need 'em.
Converting your rear end would work well... find an '83 GSL for the easiest swap, and you'll get limited slip along with the rear discs. For your year, you have no need to worry about incompatible bolt patterns or anything If you can find a junked GSL, or buy the rear off someone here on the forum, that'd be your best bet. Then just keep your stock system in tune, and you'll be set.
Of course, if you HAVE a small fortune to blow.. go right ahead and you'll be ready to show off AND stop on a dime
