I have a 1985 GS and have a problem that has been bugging me for years. It is a rattle that appears to be coming from the left side of the car in the area of the drivers head, shoulder or side. It's hard to nail it down more when driving. It is more pronounced when running over rough roads. While I realize that this is a minor iritation it really does bug me. Has anyone had or heard of this before? I'm not sure if there is something with the seatbealt bracket that could be causing this or if maybe it's something lower in the door. Any help would be appreciated.

 

Are all your seals okay. Might be a metal on metal knocking. Check/tighten any bolts/screws in that area. It could be something in the inside of the door knocking around as well.

Have someone lay in the back of the car while you drive and see if they can pin point the where the sound is coming from.
