where can i find a leading coil from a 2nd. Generation RX-7? i want to do the 2GCDFIS

 

Check the 2nd gen for sale section on here. Also check ebay and local wrecking yards. Take a look in the archives at the thread that Kim's FB posted. I posted in there how to connect the 2GCDFIS without cutting the ignitor wires. This is so you can switch to the transistor trick (TT) later. The TT basically just lets you use the 2nd gen ignitor without an ECU. The 2nd gen ignitor is better as it can handle more current and keeps firing strong at high RPM.

 

I just did this mod in the past week and simply desoldered the wires to the 2nd gen ignitor. It will be very easy to resolder back when future upgrade time comes.

 

how'd it turn out? is the widebody running better?

 

I bought mine off ebay for 18 bucks shipped.

 

Seems fine, haven't had it out yet. Finally made some door panels and added handles.
