Krylon BBQ paint

This is not an add
I have this shitty old RB header on my car that had surface rust all over it and I was sick of looking at it so I sanded it and litlooked a little better. So I mozied on over to HD/Lowes and picked up a can of High heat BBQ paint. It's weird cause they don't have what i bought on the site, but it was a cross between these two. It was high heat and BBQ paint it said it was good up to 1200* so i figured it might last a few months, should be worth $5

I painted the header with it installed on the car just after it was up to full temp that way it would dry fast and basically bake on.
Well now on to the point of this thread, the unexpected benifit, heat. This paint did an amazing job on shielding heat. Under hood temps have dropped so much. I don't have any specific temp readings, but trust me it's so much damn cooler. Before the paint I couldn't put my hand within 4" of the header just after shut down without getting too hot, but now I can touch the header for a second or two. Oh and it looks nice now. lqtm

I know what I am getting tomorrow! Thanks for the info, I was wondering if the BBQ grill/oven paint would hold up. I got my muffler that needs repainting.

EDIT: Didn't mean to quote the first post.

I'd like to see your header. I painted mine with high temp exhaust paint. It held up well on the REPU. Now it needs to hold up on the 7.
