kia sportage 4.44s and 4.77s, what years?

So doing a bunch of searching and reading you all say the kia sportage came with 4.77s and 4.44s. but i all i can find was someone saying that the 4.77s came from 96 and newer front third member.

but what years did the 4.44s come from? everything before 96? i think they started in 93.

thanks

the KIA parts book doesnt give the ratios, except for the 96 or 97 book (haven't looked up a kia part since y2k!)

the mazda 4.44 gear set is 87-88 B2600 4x4.

both gear sets are for the FRONT diff

oh wow, the elusive 87-88 b2600.

so when people say early to mid 80s 4x4 mazda front axles have a third member that bolt in with 4.44s, what am i supposed to make of that?

guess i need to start some climbing under some cars in the JY

There were only about 10,000 of the Mazda 4x4 pickups made between 1986 and 1993. After 1993, they became a Ford Ranger clone.

I used to own a 1989 B2600i 4x4... Finding one in the scrap yard was always a bitch for me.

How about a 4.30:1 from a Miata? Or are you specifically looking for 4.44?

and maybe you don't know, but why do people keep on saying early to mid 80s for the trucks?

my goal was to try and find something in the JY for somewhat cheap that would be a drop in. so really sounds like the sportage is what i might have to do. but that's just almost to low of gears. im being sacrilegious and swapping something in to the rx7 that has, OMG torque.

not like v8 torque, but way more then the rotary ever had. and before i took the time to swap to 4.30s, i would just run the 4.10ish that i have now.
