Keeping it running?

So, I thought I'd ask since I never really did when i got it started up.

After swapping in the new pump, filter, plugs, wires, and ignition coils, it doesn't stay running. I had to hold the choke at full just to keep it on. Could it have been from old gas, or older oil? Or is it a carb problem, because I never did order my Sterling yet. If anyone wants some elaboration on it, just ask. Thanks in advance guys.

Did it run before your parts swapping? If so the problems in the parts or swapper.

No, it didn't run at all before these parts. The last part I replaced was the ignition coils and starter, then it finally started.

How old is the Gas? Bad gas will make them run bad and not want to idle. Drain it out and replace with fresh.

I'd imagine when it finally stalled out, I used all the gas in it. Thanks though.

Yeah, get fresh fuel in there. If you got water and sludge in the carb it may take a while to clean itself out because it can only clean itself out if the fuel flows through it and washes the water away.
Don't get discouraged.
