Keeping Old Parts
Keeping Old Parts
Am about to lose my storage space where I keep the parts I haven taken off the FB. Going to be very short on space so looking at culling.
What old parts should I hang on to, so as to add value to a BAT style listing a few years from now? Car is almost entirely original, restoration v modification aside from rack and pinion. I am defn going to hang on to the steering parts I took off when I upgraded to rack and pinion but any need to hang on to the following? All are original to the car, but I assume don’t do much for selling it in the future?
Radiator with multiple holes.
Cat back muffler, intact but rusted.
Leaking water pump / housing.
Spare wheel, very rusty as rear window leaked when car was stored by previous owner.
Box of worn out suspension bushings.
Box of old spark plug wires, hoses, fuel lines etc.
Radio speakers.
Right now I am in denial that I am also going to lose the space where I work on and store the car itself…. But saving that particular blow for later.

From one packrat to another, I honestly don't see much value in any of those items. If none of the items listed are in new or nearly new mint condition or uniquely proprietary to the RX7 (like your steering parts) .. then maybe its time to just let them go.
I am trying to be a reformed pack rat. I am selling off all of my old Rx7 parts that I saved incase I needed them. But it sounds like everything except the steering parts are not worth saving.

I generally agree with the other guys here. But I feel like that catalytic converter and exhaust might come in handy...it's heavy alright, but if it's still catalyzing, it might be worth it to pass a smog test.
Another reforming pack rack here. Biggest thing is doors, but I keep finding more and more.
I had 25 years worth of SA/FB parts that I have been selling off since I sold my SA last year. I was down to the big parts. Body panels, engines, transmissions, etc. I located a local rx7 parts buyer and he took everything I had left. Except for some after market springs and shocks. The only thing I kept was the original SA shift **** from my car and the good memories.
