anyone have this for there 12a ? How does it sound and how is the performance increase. my cat got so bad that the overheat light would stay on so i figured id just go straight pipe. now do i have to remove emissions for the racing beat pipe ?

I have it. Can't tell you on performance because I got several things changed at the same time.

What is your question on emissions?

I just put a straight pipe on mine. Not racing beat, looked custom, but fit perfectly. The performance gain is noticable. No, you do not have to remove all the emmisions crap, though you'll probably want to eventually anyway. All you have to do is remove the line from the air pump to the cat. I comes of the back of the carb or intake manifold (not sure which) as a hard line, then uses a soft line to make the drop down to the underside of the car. You can just remove the soft line from the hard line, and leave it open. That's how I'm running right now, with absolutely no issues. Once you remove the rats nest, and the air pump, you'll then want to block off that hard line.

Everything else on mine is stock for now. It's a bit louder, and you can definately hear the compression when coasting down hill now. Has a higher pitched, almost open-header type sound to it under heavy acceleration with a decent load.

Any other questions, feel free to ask. I probably won't know any more answers, but someone will.

i suggest removing all the emisisons, they're probly not doing you much good without cats... its gonna be a lil louder, but you will notice an increase in power... your best bet is to get a presilencer, and probably some headers if you want to see some real output....

Yeah. I had a very similar issue. No overheat light, but definately a clogged cat. So this was, like I said, an noticable performace increase. Nothing spectacular, but you will feel a difference. Probably more than me even, since it sounds like your cat was worse off.
