Why not make your 7th car a Toyota?

Yeah, I'll second that. Dude, we love our cars and all, but an FB won't get you to work and back every day at 100 miles a day for long. Besides, the mileage sucks. Find a $500 Tercel and keep the miles off your baby.

Heh, now I have to take issue with that. These cars are plenty reliable when driven conservatively. Or so I've heard... =)

Hey I've driven my RX-7 60 Miles (Total, there and back) to work 5 days a week for like three months now, and besides me being stupid and overheating it once. Darn Beehive Oil Coolers! It's been fine, still running fine after the overheat... It just consumes more oil now... <.<

I'll drive her untill she can't go any further too darn it!

But I would love to drive it all the time, some guy at worked asked me if it was a V6 I was like hmm read up on da Doc. man it feels so good to drive a rex again, ive been driving a 95 honda prelude but dont come close to the feel of a rex. and the nice smell from the muffler

I take issue with that too. My non-turbo RX-7's have been pretty much indestructible and no one has ever called me a conservative driver! I've been driving them for over 21 years now including multiple trips across Europe and the US. For a few years I was driving up to 85 miles a day through rush hour traffic over the potholed streets of Washington DC and the RX-7's have always held up admirably with very few problems and very low maintenance. Even better, the car is simple enough that potential problems are often readily identified and fixed before they cause a breakdown. I own numerous other cars and the sad thing is the first generation RX-7's probably get the best fuel economy of the lot. At least they run on low octane, which is a bonus. It's actually not that bad and I've occasionally gotten up to 30 mpg on the highway.

the only cars I have ever owned have been Rx-7s (im only 19). I used to take my 82 on ~120 mile trips twice a weekend plus where ever else I drove durring the week. I would say they are pretty reliable.

I drive mine all over the place-- used to make trips between Rochester & Syracuse a couple times a week (that's about an hour drive) not to mention commuting within either city...
I'ver put over 10k mi on my '81 since I bought it and things have been decaying at about the rate I expected for its age and unknown background...
Right now I'm only commuting about 30 mi each way.
