Just got an 85 GS, few questions/issues

My two previous cars were Miata's, I loved the handling but the power was lacking. I ended up buying an 85 GS from a member on this board. It has 135k miles, but with a rebuild 20 or 30 thousand miles ago according to the seller. A lot of emissions stuff was removed by a previous owner apparently - he neglected to tell me this... it has original paint, top and hood have some fade, pieces around the bottom of the windows need reupholstered. Runs great except - it blows out a little gray/blue smoke when i shift after the redline buzzer comes on. The steering is loose as hell though I understand this is normal... kinda. But there is some vibrating coming from the wheel at 30-70mph and in a rythem of vibrating for like 5 seconds, then off for 10, and keeps doing it. I'm not sure what this is. Also - When I come to a slow stop a lot of times, there is a grinding noise and feel from the brakes - but the pads and rotors are fine.. I'm not sure what this could be. Also there is a rattling noise coming from the passenger rear - from behind the door. If anybody has any idea what is casuing any of the above problems I would greatly appreciate it.

Steering: Look for my post in this thread; https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...steering+grind

Blue smoke: make sure the oil level is correct, then do a search on Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer.

Wheel vibration: Have the wheels balanced, or move the front wheels to the back of the car and see if that helps.

Brake grinding: If the pads/rotors are in good shape, then check for missing or misinstalled shims.

Also, Seafoam is your new best friend. Put some in the gas tank every month or so to keep the motor free from carbon buildup. Also, don't be afraid to redline it (she'll love you for it).
