Just Finished DLIDFIS
Man this thing is sweet. I just got back from my test drive. The car starts better, SOUNDS WAY BETTER, and according to my butt-dyno, there is more low-end torque. The car also revs up so fast you have to watch out not to overrev it.
I'm disppointed that I didn't do this earlier. For anybody that hasn't done this yet, IT'S A MOST MOD.
I will post some pics as soon as I have extra time. Now I gotta go get ready for tommorow's autox

Congrats man!
79+80, I mention some specific info about J105 vs J109 ignitors in my article. The '80 dizzy is easier to use (nice long pickup wires), but the ignitors are... funny. See if you can remove the sometimes-on Trailing ignition crap that the '80 came with, and make it on full time like the '81-'85s are. Hook the tach to Trailing as well. Basically, you're going to want to retrofit your ignition system like what us previously points powered people have done (My Cosmo had a dizzy with three sets of points in it... weird).

REVHED has a pic of his setup that he posts here and there. I only have pics of my REPU's setup which may or may not help you. Either way here is the link: http://www.geocities.com/cd23c/ignition.html

I have an 83 header.... with a straight pipe back to the stock muffler.... I have mechanical secondaries... 8mm wires.... puttin on second gen plugs after I get the fuel system redone in about a week or so.... I want to do this.. cause I can HEAR when the trailing plugs quit.... its on like start up.. it SUX... hard to keep running.. then it gets this brappy sound when they come back on.... Anyways... I want to use the stock box..... with the two ignitors on it.... but i dont know which wire is which coming off of it... I am thinking of just ripping out all of the ignition system and redoing it all.... dunno...
THANX LATERZ, ANdrew
oh yeah.... I dont under stand the wires coming off of it... or anything.. could somone point me in the riht direction???

If I were you, I'd experiment with the J105s to see that they can be triggered any time the dizzy shaft spins. It's how the J105 was on my '81 dizzy (it worked ok and fired all the time at any RPM). They work pretty much exactly like the J109s do. They just need to be hooked up the same way. My advice is to remove that funky box that they're hooked to and attach them to an aluminum plate. The box has some relays hooked to it which can also be removed or just disconnected (my Cosmo had very similar relays and electronically controlled split timing etc... weird stuff). Just find the main key-on wire and use it. Bypass all that '80 ignition garbage. Your header and engine will thank you!
I have a J109 sitting in front of me. All you need to remember is [S red] [G green]. From pickups to ignitors, the red wires go to S and green wires go to G. G = green, simple enough.
abeomid, how did you do?

Ok Guys, As soon as it stops raining here (which usually doesn't in summer) I will take all the pictures and post it up with some changes to what Jeff has on his site, Especially for the GSL-SE since it has some extra wire in the for the ECU.
