Have you ever driven a 1st gen. If not, You'll want to get one. They are so fun. Just get a first gen. with a streetpot and a nice carb setup, exhaust and you'll be good. I wouldn't know the excact hp, but you can get up there if you tune it good. It sounds nice that your giving your t2 to your dad because he loves it. Good luck with what you do and god bless you.

With supporting intake and exhaust mods, sp around 180, full bp around 220, but not very streetable. There can be a wide difference in each porting job depending on whether it's a consevative or radical version. Since PR seems to be the home of fast rotarys, I would be bending the ear of the locals.

thanks bro, i do love the first gens, ive seen some that are really nice but you know i just want to have something that not everyone has hehe. a toyota corolla ae86 with a 12A would be really fun and would be something different from the ordinary. i told my bro that i wanted a T2 engine but he told me why not put a 12A with a good street port and a bridgeport engine, and it interested me more than the T2 engine, i heard the 12A is a pretty strong engine when tuned right, and in my opinion is the best that sounds being n/a.

Ya, The 12a does sound so nice. I love it. It's your money so you do what you want. Or you can just put a 20b in there and surprise people.

Streetable is refering to how civil it drives in traffic, 1/2bps are bad enough, I would hate to try a full bridge. Legal, by the time a full flow exhaust is done right on a full bp, it's usually above legal noise limits.

Would a pretty good streetport pass most smog test?

full bridge isn't that bad... just louder than the usual streetports. but drivability is fairly the same.
