Unhappy Just doesn't seem to have the power

I dunno for some reason my car just doesn't seem like it has the power it should. Especially in 3rd, 4th or 5th. I mean I know 5th should be like nothing but still I don't seem to have a lot of power. I recently did a tuneup replacing distributer and cap, air filter, spark plugs. What other things could I check out or change that might be causing some power loss? My exhaust sounds like it might be leaking for some reason. I have to get it up on a jack and see, it sounds small but I think that might be where some of my problem could be coming from, could there be a big loss from this area? Could I also have some links to resonable exhaust systems to replace this one. I would like to get the full rb one but I don't think that is in my budget seeing I have plenty of other bills to pay unfortuantly and my job isn't helping me out much . Thanks.

Man, I am learning it could be a lot of things so you are going to have to be more specific. I would change the fuel filter to begin with. If you can iscolate what is going on, do a search and read for a while. I say this because you will learn and find you problem. I searched for months before posting and still didn't know anything.

Well get your fuel filter changed, and take a look at your exhaust. Might be a cat problem?

If the cats are plugged, yes, it will choke the engine.

i heard if you bang on them and hear rattling then they're screwed. but for a nice upgrade i would recommend this since you cant go full RB exhaust. http://www.racingbeat.com/FRmazda1.htm

If you have axcess to a welder, then you can buy the whole racing beat exhaust system in pieces for hella cheap...as in even the header is dissasembled.

You can also just get the header and cat replacement pipe, but that has the loud buzzy noise to it. Never really liked that.

I would suggest you save for a bit and give the money up for the whole exhaust, you won't regret it.
