Smile Just bought some wheels... ? about fitment

Rightio, I just bought a set of 15inch Simmons for my car. I was in the process of fitting them when I noticed the hole on the back of the wheel that locates it on the hub is slightly larger. That's not really a problem as I can get some sleeves machined up. But, would it be safe to run the wheels like this until that time? Cheers.

Pics should be coming soon.

I'd run 'em, shouldn't be a problem.

Yes, so long as the the lugs are installed properly. Shouldn't be a problem at all.

I wouldn't as the nuts will be centering the wheel as you do them up rather than the centre of the wheel... with a softer rim material like what Simmons use this can damage the stud holes in the rims..

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

Well okay, but I've run many sets of wheels with larger diameter openings on a variety of rotary cars for many years with nary a problem. That's why I say I would run 'em. By the way, if those wheels are as soft as someone mentioned, I'd pass on them unless they had a steel insert for seating the lug nuts. JMO. -WG

Well, it's all moot now since I went and fitted them anyway. Yes, they do have an insert for the lugs by the look of it so it shouldn't be a problem.
