Is the car fuel injected now, with rear vented disc that's an SE rear end so you just might have an GSL-SE.

Get some more pics up so we can investagate.

Sorry that's just funny!

Anyway, welcome to the forum and congrats on your purchase! It looks like it'll be a nice project! If you can post some pics of the interior and engine bay maybe we can all help you identify it.

welcome ...

the only thing i can think is to pull apart the interior trim in the trunk area and look to see if you find any lines that suggest its been chopped.

if it has been chopped then its a 79-80 that has been made into an 84-85.

if it has not been chopped then you have anything between 81-85 that has been tagged with a 79-80 VIN.

there's a minor detail that most people miss when they do this so take a picture of the hood (while closed) and focus on the area near windshield wipers.

Most of the British West Indies used to drive on the left. If its a rhd all gen1s had the SA 22C vin number rather than the FB of USA models.

The later rhd cars had all the SE equipment except the 13B efi, many received a transplanted 13B when it was time for a rebuild The 85 rhd models also had the 84 dash rather than the dial air controls of the 85 USA model.

Again as you said it could be a hybred of parts of unknown origion.
