Jack Stand Location
Hi guys,
I am wondering where you guys place the jack stands. And where you use the hydralic floor jack to jack up the car?
In the front end, I place the floor jack under the cross member underneath the engine. And once the car is high enough, I place the jack stands underneath the frame on both side of the chassis. But are we suppose to place the jack stands under where we place the floor jack underneath the front door area instead of the frame?
Any idea?

If I am jacking the front end, I put the floor jack under the center of the front cross member. When it is high enough, I put the jack stands under each side of the cross member, just before the suspension arms. It seems to work well and doesn't damage the frame.

I'm not a big fan of putting anything under the frame as it can damge quite easily. My jack stands usually go underneath the crossmember or under the forward tension rod mounting brackets.

yes, gsl-se addict is right. thats the best way to do it. and in the back, just put the jack right on the pumpkin to take it up.
side to side is easier for me because i put the jack right on the points where the roll cage bolts to the floor, but of course that doesnt apply to most of you. ive never done side to side on a street car.

Don't put a floor jack at the standard jackpoints.
I didn't notice til the car was a few inches off the ground that it was bending that little metal lip.
It's never dont that before on any other car I have had and had to jack up.
This may be old news for 99% of 1st gen owners.....but it was new to me.
