It's Always Something... (tires, belts and rattles oh my!!)

Well today i noticed a few things...

Tires:
My passenger side front tire bald as **** on the inside, and getting bald on the outside. Both front tires were in perfect condition about 500 miles ago when i did all my swapping (brakes, axle, tranny and clutch). I didnt get to get an alignment because all the places around here have really OLD alignment rigs that would royally **** up my rims. Now the car drove perfectly, so i didnt really think it was all that bad, and i was planning on getting an alignment when i got back down to NJ. So 500 miles and i have a FUCKED front tire (eh, so now $112 for a pair of new Kumho ECSTA 712's) and finally an alignment. See attachments for my FUCKED up tire (man doing that to a tire in less than 500 miles MUST be a record )

Belts:
I need new belts for my alternator/water pump/main pulley. I dont run a yoohoo belt, and i've been using a pair of Gates 7315 XL's , but i've always suspected that they didnt fit right, almost as if they had the wrong \/ ratio to fit in the groove's properly, and in a few thousand miles, my belts are in pretty rough shape... What belts do you all use, cause its time for a new pair.

Rattles:
I've narrowed my horrid rattle down to the rear caliper rattling a little bit. If i grab hold of the caliper and yarn on it i can hear and see a faint rattle... but i sure as **** cant figure out where exacltly it originates. The caliper mounting bolts are tight as can be, so its not there... it seems to be within the caliper somewhere. But this one i need to get fixed, cause **** all its annoying. (yeah i know its a vauge description) but i do what i can

-Kurt

edit: drivers side tire appears to be in perfect shape...

Hang in there man. This last year my SE has decided that wanted
to have a lot replaced. Oil hoses, alternator, starter (twice), clutch,
and the list goes on. It all comes with having an aged car. I have
thought many times about selling it, but it all goes away when I
get in it and drive it. Good luck, keep it up bud.

oh belive me, i know... i wasnt complaining at all. Just asking for some advice, and giving other forum members a heads up on what my car's been up to. Cause most of us that have been here for a long time know eachother's cars and what we've done.

but damn, 2 starters? that sucks... i picked one of the 2 i got with the car at random and it still works fine *knocks on wood*

500 miles! HAH!

a pair of BRAND NEW treadwear 550 tires got destroyed by my metro parts car in 150 miles.

They wore so badly on the inside that I had to remove them and get them remounted facing the other way at 75 miles.

the ones on the back are still like new though..

I guess that's what 10deg of camber and 4" of toe out does, though
it was so bad that they would squeal at any speed above 15mph.

see... my car handled like a dream, and the tires never squealed (well they did when i only had 26psi in them and only around turns) but once i inflated them back up to 36, they were fine. I just dont understand how the alignment could be off that bad and have the car still drive so nice.

*shrug*
