Intermediate pipe woes

Figured I'd wait as much as possible before investing in an exhaust system. Now my intermediate pipe has rotted off the flange to the muffler. Im looking at getting the Racing beat setup for the 12a automatic. What solutions are out there for the intermediate pipe? Will I have to have that section welded up? Or is a spare available?

That's just a straight pipe with a few wiggles in it. A good muffler shop should be able to make that with the flanges. The issue is the rest of the exhaust doesn't look that good.

Factory cats and muffler i can assumr. split air pipe came off a bit ago. I have a SA22C header with resonator but im told that because it is for a manual 12a it wont clear the larger AT bellhousing. Willing to sell it it. Its in okay shape. So looks like I should still get the Racing beat package and have a decent shop mock up the intermediate pipe. Great!!! No problem. Was wondering what that banging sound was.

I guess I didn't know there was that much of a difference between the manual and automatic transmissions to warrant a change in a header. Yeah, I'd look into replacing that entire system since patching it will only cause more troubles down the road as it continues to fall apart.

One thing I do know is that the 1985 stock auto trans exhaust has different bends then the manual trans one. I converted my 1985 GSL Auto trans to a manual and the auto exhaust still works. I'd be pretty surprised if a manual RB header didn't work.

The main difference I see is where the exhaust bracket fits on the trans cross member. I have both the auto and manual trans brackets/cross members attached to my car after welding in the manual trans brackets. I'll get a pic with the trans cross members installed.
